In the spirit of our founder Blessed Edmund Rice, the St Edward’s College Prefect Portfolio system is based upon the tenants of collaborative and shared leadership.

Shared Leadership
Selected from across Years 11 and 12, the Prefect team carries the spirit of collaboration and shared leadership. They help to shape culture, uphold values, and lift every student toward something greater.

College Portfolios: A Framework for Student Leadership and Engagement

The College Portfolio initiative provides students with meaningful opportunities to engage in leadership, service, and community-building activities aligned with the four EREA Touchstones. These portfolios reflect the diverse ways students contribute to the life of the College and the broader community.

Liberating Education

  • Peer Tutoring – including promotion, recruitment, and active participation.
  • Maths Week – supporting faculty-led initiatives and student engagement.
  • Faculty Week Assistance – contributing to events across various learning areas.
  • Year 7 Planner Buddy System – mentoring younger students in organisational skills.
  • Spelling Bee – promoting literacy and academic challenge.
  • PI Challenge – engaging in mathematical problem-solving and enrichment.

  • Coast Shelter Support – assisting local homelessness services.
  • Sleep Out – raising awareness of homelessness.
  • Waterford Promotion – encouraging service and reflection through the Waterford Project.

Environmental Stewardship

  • Trash Free Tuesday – promoting waste reduction.
  • Earn and Return – supporting recycling initiatives.
  • Flip the Switch – encouraging energy conservation.
  • Solar Panel Proposal – contributing to sustainable infrastructure planning.
  • Waste Audit – analysing and improving waste management practices.
  • EREA Environment Student Gatherings – participating in national environmental forums.
